President's Report

Happy New Year and welcome to 2012!

On behalf of the 2012 Board of Directors of the MidAmerica Contingency Planning Forum (MCPF), I hope each of you and your families enjoyed safe and happy holidays.

As we look forward to what lies ahead in the upcoming year both personally and professionally, the Board looks forward to continuing the growth of the MCPF.  In 2011 under what we’ve referred to as “STAGE 1”, we undertook several strategic initiatives in an effort to re-energize the organization.  Included in those initiatives were:

  • establishing the organization as a not-for-profit organization.
  • entering into an arrangement to design and implement our own website.
  • hosting our first ever Vendor Expo.

In 2012 we’ll continue our work in “STAGE 2”.  Throughout the year, everything we do will be done with the intention of delivering value to our members and the overall betterment of the organization.  Our 2012 Strategic Plan includes the following initiatives:

  • A membership drive including networking with other professional groups in the St. Louis region.
  • A program calendar that will include timely and informative presentations, including another Vendor Expo.
  • Continued development of our website and a trial monthly meeting over the internet.
  • Increased usage of social media.
  • Implementation of a structured marketing campaign.

When implemented,  these initiatives will help grow your professional career and overall network and drive it forward for years to come.  While we have a full plate of activities, the one item that’s vital to the success of the organization is YOU!  Without members like you, there’s not much hope or need for success.  By taking the time now to either renew or establish your membership, you’ll be ready to participate in all of the great programs that take place in 2012.

Attached is a Membership Application.  Please take a few minutes now to complete the application and submit with your payment of $40.00.  As an incentive to get renewals completed as soon as possible, all renewals completed by January 30, 2012, will be entered in a raffle to win $20.00 (or a 50% refund of your 2012 membership dues)!  Winners will be notified by e-mail and announced at the February 2012 MCPF Meeting.

In closing, I hope you will take the opportunity to renew, or establish, your MCPF membership early in order to take part in our Membership Raffle.  On behalf of the entire MCPF Board, we look forward to working with you in 2012.

Best wishes,

The MCPF Board
